The opening minute problem

The moment every facilitator knows.

You have 40 people in a virtual session. Most have their cameras off. You ask the opener question and three people respond. The rest are waiting for someone else to go first.

This is not a failure of facilitation. It is a structural problem. People need a reason to engage before they feel safe enough to engage.

Neegma solves this by making the first interaction a game, not a question. When someone scans a QR code and picks a username, they have already participated. When the scoreboard goes up and their name appears in second place, they lean in. When their team overtakes the leader in round three, they are not a passive attendee anymore. They are a player.

Three modes

Online sessions and in-person groups, same tool.

Pick the mode that matches your room. All three carry the same Playground content.

Online Player Experience

Everyone on their own device.

Every participant joins from their own device using a QR code or session link. They see the game on their phone or laptop, submit answers in real time, and watch the live scoreboard update on the shared screen.

Best for: virtual workshops, online community sessions, and hybrid events with participants dialling in.

Team Mode

A group shares one device.

Split participants into teams of any size. Each team shares one device and submits answers together. A group of six has to discuss, debate, and agree before answering. Even an Unscramble round becomes a collaborative moment when the whole group is shouting suggestions at the person holding the phone.

Best for: in-person workshops, breakout groups within virtual sessions, anywhere you want collaboration.

Offline · Coming soon

No devices for participants.

The host runs the show from their screen while participants interact physically. Think of it as the board game version of Neegma: the platform manages the game logic while the group plays analogue. Ideal for sessions where presence matters more than screens.

Best for: mental health workshops, leadership programmes, community events where phones break the moment.

Early access

Want offline mode for your sessions?

Join the early access list and we will reach out when offline mode is ready for facilitators.

The Playground

Build your session before you walk in the room.

Log in to the Neegma Playground before your event. Create a custom question set tailored to your audience, your topic, and your session goals.

Once your questions are created, preview the session exactly as your participants will experience it. When you are happy, your game set is saved to your library permanently. The next time you run a session for a similar audience, open the library, pick the saved set, and you are ready in 60 seconds.

Games that work in facilitated group settings.

  • Two Truths & a Lie

The safest possible icebreaker. Requires vulnerability, rewards curiosity, generates natural conversation. Works in both online and offline formats. Use it at the start of any session with people who do not know each other.

  • Find the Mole

Only the mole knows who they are. The rest of the group asks questions and tries to identify the deceiver. In Team Mode an entire team can be the mole together. The debrief after the reveal is a natural conversation starter about trust and how groups make decisions under uncertainty.

  • Charades

In a workshop setting it is far more than a party game. When a team has to agree on what the mime means, they are practising rapid consensus and non-verbal communication. It removes hierarchy from the room in a way few exercises can.

  • Taboo

Describing a word without using the obvious terms forces lateral thinking and listening. A low-stakes proxy for the real skill of clear communication. Teams experience the same frustration as trying to explain a complex idea without jargon.

  • Custom Trivia, Unscramble, Word Puzzles

Build these around your session's topic. A community session for engineers? Unscramble built around programming terms. A leadership offsite? Trivia about company milestones. Bespoke games show participants you thought about them specifically.

Real sessions, real facilitators

Not a hypothetical. People have already used it.

Virtual community pulse

Builders in FinTech

The community manager used the Playground to create a custom Unscramble question set built around FinTech terminology. She ran it as the opening icebreaker in a virtual community session. Participants who had never met each other were competing, laughing, and messaging each other in the chat within four minutes.

Community gathering

LemFi

The LemFi team used Neegma at a community event to create a shared competitive experience for their users. Participants played as individuals, competing for the top of the scoreboard using custom questions tailored to the LemFi community. The live scoreboard on the main screen created a buzz a standard Q&A never would.

Works whether you charge clients or run community sessions for free.

Independent facilitators and trainers

Running sessions for clients. Neegma becomes part of your offering. Build a custom game set once and run it across multiple client engagements. The game show element becomes a signature part of how you open or close a workshop.

Community managers and programme leads

Running recurring sessions for a group that changes month to month. Neegma gives you a ready-to-use format that feels fresh to new participants while being easy for you to prepare and repeat.

Mental health, wellbeing, and DEI facilitators

Games create psychological safety in ways that structured exercises sometimes cannot. Offline mode, coming soon, will let you run Neegma without requiring participants to be on their phones.
